The fresh initiative comes amid growing concern about the UK's exposure to internet outages and cyber-attacks.
Recent situations have highlighted these risks, including a widespread failure affecting global cloud computing and recent cyber-attacks that affected operations at key facilities and supply chains across various businesses.
Management and Supervision
A former commander of the Britain's aerial defense command will provide findings next month on how the publicly-supported center can best support the scale of government AI ambitions in defense, national security and intelligence.
Strategic Realignment
The center's head, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that nearly eighty separate studies at the organization with 440 employees have been terminated, spun out or finished because they aren't consistent with the new direction.
Workplace Issues
The institute has faced workplace difficulties since last year as workers demonstrated against changes, culminating in a team of staff members submitting a formal grievance to the relevant regulatory body.
The center's administration stated that these whistleblower claims were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have lack merit.
