The winter recruitment period proves to be a time of feverish speculation and possible major transfers. Numerous notable players are being connected to transfers out of their current teams. We examine some of the top names that might be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Latest developments point to the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his services. This England defender has excel for Crystal Palace despite a previous transfer to Anfield collapsing. As his contract set to run out in the summer, this represents the London club's final chance to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. Juventus are desperate to tie down the youngster to a lengthy agreement but face a race to keep one of Europe's brightest young talents.

The highly-touted Netherlands teenage midfielder has earned parallels to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. Following impressing at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar first team. The teenager is heavily tipped to make a major move in January. Newcastle United are believed to be frontrunners, but could face strong competition from Real Madrid for a deal priced at around twenty-two million pounds.
