Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
