NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features live text of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests was the amount of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

However it was positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have that deficit before direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending more than four pass rushers instead they could position two linebackers in the interior before withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad aiming to run first, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped QB the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, and he is highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to throw while moving, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it consumes time and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to have a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. He can really develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
